Nourishing Yourself

Hello Lovable DIVA You,

I have recently been focusing on different ways I need to nourish myself that have nothing to do with food. This new focus happened after it became extremely clear that I was putting pressure on food and eating itself when I really needed to relax about it.

Within the past few years my relationship with food had become a major source of stress.  I developed several food sensitivities, I put a lot of rules and conditions around food, what to eat, when to eat, what foods to eat together, when it was okay to eat food that is considered “junk” food. Regardless, extra weight seemed to hang around no matter what I did and my digestive system was a mess. I knew I had to get to the bottom of what was happening on an emotional level.

For the past several months I loosened the reigns around food and I began allowing myself to eat what I wanted when I wanted and focused more on eating until I was full.  If I started to judge myself I would do some energy work around it so I could become more aware of what was really going on.

What I have come to realize is that over several years and particularly the past 2, that there has been a lot of change and expansion in my personal life, at my corporate job and with Happy Tappy Girl launching DIVA Nation.  Consequently, the way I nourish myself has needed to expand and change as well. I needed more nourishment on the soul level. I became aware that food is not meant to be my main source of nourishment. Since then, I have been becoming more and more aware of all of the ways both my soul and my body wanted to be nourished.

I have taken the pressure off of the food and nourish myself in creative ways that support me.  Food and eating no longer need to be the scapegoat for keeping myself in a box that I no longer fit in and that never existed in the first place.  I no longer had to “wait” (weight) to nourish myself in the way that my expanded self, needed.

All of this ties into 3 of my 5 Key Principles:
